Friday parent privacy notice
Version 2026-10-31.1 · Pre-launch disclosure, not a finalized legal policy
Parent-owned accounts
Parents sign in with Google or email. Children use subprofiles with a nickname and age; children do not create independent accounts. Age guides lesson difficulty and safety.
What Friday stores
Active family records include profiles, learning summaries, quiz results, issued learning checks and responses, permission acknowledgments, safety reports and voice session save status. Please use a nickname and avoid sharing private information in questions or reports.
AI and voice processing
Questions, recent lesson context and learning history are sent to AI services to produce lessons. Live voice audio is processed by the voice service. A temporary transcript can be reviewed to save learning summaries. Friday does not intentionally store a raw audio recording or full voice transcript in its application database. Provider processing, training use and retention require contractual verification.
Your controls
The Privacy center lets you disable voice, withdraw permission for new learning, download active family records and delete a child’s history, profile or family account. Withdrawal prevents new AI sessions; an already dispatched provider request may finish before revocation is observed.
Retention and deletion
Active learning records remain until you delete them. No automatic retention schedule has been approved yet. Active record deletion does not establish deletion from backups, infrastructure logs or AI providers. Those timelines and deletion mechanisms remain unverified and must be settled before commercial launch.
Reports and human review
Reports can be submitted without attaching audio or full conversations. A report receipt is not a guarantee that a staffed team is monitoring it. Reports are not an emergency service. Ask a safe adult or local emergency service for immediate help.
Parental verification
A signed-in account and acknowledgment are not independently verified parental consent. Applicable laws, an appropriate verification method, notice requirements and third-party permissions need legal review before public child deployment.
Unresolved operator information
The legal operator name, postal address, privacy contact, final retention schedule, provider terms for ages 6–12 and incident-response staffing have not been supplied or verified. This notice must be finalized with those details before commercial launch.
